Vicious by L.J Shen (Book Review)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 Stars)

Vicious owned me. A lot of times during this book I kept thinking… I should not be so much into this story! But, it’s just one of those cases where being bad it’s just so good. And Vic’s just my absolute favorite.

The heart and soul of this story are the two well-rounded characters who don’t apologize for being who they are. Sure, they grow and change, but Vicious is dark and broken and Emilia is colorful and eccentric. He is the perfect bully, but even though many times Emilia is helpless to Vicious tirades, she pushes back as often as possible and makes him really work for forgiveness.

Their story is so complex and it pans out between two timelines. The past when Vicious and ‘Millie’ first met, while they were seniors in high school, and the present (10 years later) when life circumstances cause Emilia to work for him. The switch back and forth between the different time periods give you enough mystery and drama to try to piece together Vicious obsession and what possibly caused his very dark tendencies.

It’s a long journey that they both go through to find some common ground, but one that is definitely worth your time.

To enjoy this book you must really like the bad boy/alphahole stereotype and a slow-burn romance with twists and turns. If you do, go read this now, it’s available on Kindle Unlimited and it’s a 5 star read for me.
