Eye Candy by Jiffy Kate (Book Review)

☆☆☆☆☆ (5 Stars)

Yay for SmartyPants Romance launch 3 and Yay for Jiffy Kate! The writing duo has done it again, one of my favorite extended universes is this one (previously the Donner Bakery series and now the Fighting for Love series) with the Erickson boys. It’s no secret that I thought Beef Cake was great and Stud Muffin was absolutely perfect – but the newest addition Eye Candy is like a balm for your soul.

This is the sweetest romance novel I’ve read in a really long time. Meet the third Erickson brother, Vali. After going through a terrible heartbreak in Dallas he decides to join his brothers Gunnar and Cage in Green Valley. He wants to take this time off to focus on himself and is absolutely not looking for a new relationship.

Of course, that’s where Maggie comes in. She is a bit sheltered and was homeschooled her entire life. But Maggie has some secrets of her own and is ready to step out of her shell. Hopefully, with the help of the new Viking in town.

This is a very low angst story but highly entertaining. You get to see a lot from the other brothers, Tempest and Frankie, and of course, some lovely cameos from the Winston Brothers series.

One thing I really appreciated about Eye Candy is how the conflict at the end wasn’t super dramatic. There was no crazy fight, miscommunication, or weird device to make them break up. What happened was something very believable that was resolved naturally and in a mature way. So refreshing!

ps: Just a tiny rant… I understand why they updated the covers… but I really really really miss the old ones.

Thank you so much Smartypants Romance for the complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
